The Battle of Jericho
Joshua 6:20 ,
” So the people shouted, and priests blew the trumpets; and when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, the people shouted with a great shout and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight ahead,and they took the city.“
To cut the long story short, once upon a time the Israelites were slaves in Egypt, and after many a hardship ,they set out from Egypt under Moses to their promised land. Their first conquest was Jericho under Joshua.
The people of Jericho were very much scared of the Israelites and they made it impossible to infiltrate their walls.
“Then the Lord said to Joshua, “See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men. 3 March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. 4 Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams’ horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. 5 When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have the whole army give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the army will go up, everyone straight in.”
And that’s exactly what happened! The wall collapsed and the city belonged to the poeple of Isreal. Archaeologists have dug up the site and confirmed the biblical story. (http://www.christiananswers.net/q-abr/abr-a011.html)
The story of the Israelites is beyond flabbergasting. For them, the red sea parted, manna fell down from heaven, a spring burst forth from a rock in the desert, and for Joshua , for him, the sun stood still;
“So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself on its enemies, as it is written in the Book of Jashar. The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day.”
So, How did the wall fall? That’s the big question. Some say it might have fallen due to an earth quake. I think not. The clues are all there. The army shouted and the wall fell. Sounds familiar?
God is a freaking genius!!!. 😀 You know that glass breaks when you sing at a particular frequency. Why? Coz of Resonance. The natural frequency of the glass becomes equal to that of the sound aka noise (when you sing). Frequencies match and boom! It all comes tumbling down.
The army marched around the city for six days and on the seventh day, on the long blast of the seventh trumpet, all the army of Israel shouted ,the natural frequency of the wall became equal to the frequency of the noise and then, the walls came tumbling down.
Resonance 😀 . A better tactic than the Trojan horse, I would say.
