Words that breathe

When I said, “My foot is slipping,”
    your unfailing love, Lord, supported me.
When anxiety was great within me,
    your consolation brought me joy.

When I have been down in the dumps, when I was lost, when I strayed, when trouble was great within me, when I crossed the stormy seas, when fear rode me, when I thought life was done,He breathed life into me, He comforted me and gave me company, He took my burdens and made them his. He loved me and never ever forsake me. And he never will. He gave me words, words of life that satiated me, words of life that told me how to be, words of life that led me to quiet waters and green pastures. He anointed my head with oil.

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you go through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched; the flames will not set you ablaze.… ”

Now this is what the LORD says— He who created you, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine!
